Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

Aeropress for coffee. Stainless steel tumblers. Mixing bowls with lids for storage. Airtight containers of various sizes (good for storing things like coffee, spices, crackers, etc..). Good ceramic non-stick pan. Magma nesting stainless cookware (especially like the pasta strainer). Sharp knives with individual blade covers that I found in Bed Bath and Beyond.

Trying some new "wheat" plastic type bowls and plates this year. Seem ok so far.

Other than the above just your other standard Kitchen stuff - serving / mixing spoons, spatula, can open, etc...

I do about 75% of my cooking with a chef's knife (French Knife) and a frying pan. Though I have some things I love.
  • Silicone strainer/sifter
  • Silicone spatula
  • Cuisinart mini food processor
  • short stock pot (You can use it to boil pasta, make soups and chowders, deep fry, steam clams, or use it as a wok)
  • mini waffle maker

My sink. I removed the original, capped the thru-hull and replaced with an easily removed stainless bucket which also cradles another stainless bowl. I also added two holes with bottoms to support two qt bottles of water.

Couple other things: Quality Magma nesting pots/pan. And our stainless french press coffee maker. Also have a quality pressure cooker which doubles as a large stew pot. And of course, a good assortment kitchen impliments, including good knives (and good sharpeners).

Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

I love having a boiling water tap (powered from the inverter). You can always have a hot drink or a cup of soup on a night watch without waiting for water to boil in a pan. Reduces propane consumption a lot as well.

Quooker makes a model for boat use that has 800W peak consumption and about 10W long term average consumption.

Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

Standard drip restaurant coffee maker, the only things making it nautical are the stainless steel carafes and flat ring to keep them them on the burner in heavy seas.

I guess my age is showing but I like freshly brewed coffee when I take the watch!
