Missouri river

Hello all,

New to the forum and preparing for the great loop. I am in Colorado and am planning on trailing my boat to Columbia, MO. to put in on the Missouri then to St. Louis and onward. I would appreciate any tips or suggestions about the Missouri and good times to launch(when does the river ice over or thaw, tips to navigate the river, etc.) Thanks for any advice you can give. Loopers generally get to florida around Thanksgiving..plenty of info on the Looper sites..from the Looper floods that I have seen you must be at least 80 years old to make that trip
