Jeffs Last Sail

Sept 20, 2012

I met jeff a couple weeks a when he walked into my shop looking to have a couple sails repaired..
we started talking sailing and he said he was rigging his to sail from here in the California Delta to Panama and then further south..
But after further conversation I found he had very little experance but he loved sailing and the pease it gave him..
When I mentioned that he might need a we bit more experance, He told me he didnt have the time, and he only had a couple months to live..

Jeff is sailing off a very limmited budget, and not that I'm asking for him but if you feel he could use a little help, drop him a note at
jnlgomes@yahoo.com or to myself at sailingonr3@yahoo.com and I'll see he gets the message..

set the link below...........................

He will live longer in his sailboat than he will with doctors pumping poison into him.

Re: Jeffs Last Sail

Jeff will be around the delta area until the 7th of October and can be reached by e-mail or around my shop.. He's been doing some work for me to add to his kitty.. He's a working fool and smart as a whip.. I have no doubt he'll suceed in his adventures..
any spare equeptment you might think he might need would be welcomed..
Maybe charts of central and south america on the west coast..
His boat is comming along good, but needing a dodger and bimini..

I know its a strech but if anyone would care to donate funds, I'll give all material at cost and donate my labor to build the dodger and bimini..

I can be contacted at SailingOnR3@yahoo.com

Sent Jeff an email but don't know if he got it. Sent it the day this thread started.

Have him get ahold of me. My wife was stage 4 13 years ago with doctors sending her certified letters telling her she had 3 months to live.

Re: Jeffs Last Sail

Good on ya Randyonr3,

I've emailed you but thought I'd post as well. Count me in for a 50 in Jeff's kitty.
Do you think it would be possible to post a bank branch and account number we could just direct deposit into? If not, what would be the best way to get some extra funds to him quickly?

I felt sorry for I had no shoes, till I met a man who had no feet (anon)

Giving thanks and praises always

Re: Jeffs Last Sail

Got a call from jeff a couple days ago.. he was leaving Morro Bay on his way south..
Had a knockdown comming out of San Francisco and had to stop to fix what had broken inside the boat..
Gave him a few hints on rounding Conception and told him the alternate route of heading outside the islands as he went south..

He call a few minutes ago.. he's at anchor at Cat Harbor at Catalina Island.. guess he's realizing the torture of offshore sailing by yourself.. had some pretty bad winds south of Conception but made it through..

Notice to all,
He'll be in San Diego between the first and third and will be tyhere for a couple weeks he says, getting paperwork for Mexico..
He's asked me to post this.. and I'll post another on crew wanted.. he's looking for someone to join him on the trip south into Mexico..
He can be reached in san diego after the 1st at 209-233-7196 or send him an e-mail at jnlgomes@yahoo.com He's a great guy to be around, smart as a whip, and funny as hell..

Re: Jeffs Last Sail

Just got an e-mail from Jeff, as those that have followed his journey, he poped up from time to time in mexico..
News is, he's in panama, still alive, and working on getting throu the canal.
He should inspire many as one that is living his dream, on little to no money.

Go Jeff, Go

I ran into him in Turtle Bay, here are a few pictures: http://radpin.imgur.com/11002012_turtle_bay .

I spent an afternoon talking to him on his boat and watched his own personal version of seamship. He really is a pretty spectacular guy.
