Re: Interesting article

Well, Maybe someone will be willing to lend Crothers a crew for the return jaunt.

He won't be calling the shots at Horta, they will. At present, we have a friend who sailed there from Martinique, having reached anchorage on 4 May. She was told she would have to leave after 2 days. They will deliver food, water, and fuel to you for $$, but it is available, just no shore pratique. There is anchoring space for about 14 yachts, total, and last I looked on Marine Traffic dot com, there were 4 boats there, with 2 expected in two days.

This year is going to be VERY different. Everyone who possibly can, should plan to go straight through -- plus a two week quarantine on arrival-- to their home nation. Provision for 50% longer than the whole trip. Don't let native optimism blind you to the negative possibilities. Be prepared for a longer, more difficult passage, with no stops, and no way to "wait for better weather", except using your sea anchor (cats) or heaving to (monos). When you have completed the journey and quarantine, maybe you'll get to dine out on your adventures. "Today's misfortune is tomorrow's adventure."

And I suspect next year as well.
Not in my control.
I can’t control the world, but I can try to control myself.
And then enjoy whatever I can.
