Re: Husband Convicted After Wife Disappears Overboard

I’ve thought about this. Scary stuff. How strong is your love? You see a nice boat for $1m and your spouse is insured for $2m.

Need to have a realistic view of your relationship before you head out. Esp for random crew you pick up on an online forum...

Not very strong obviously, like wise for moral compass, if you are going to snuff someone for money...but it does in fact happen for a lot less.

Pick-up crew...a crap shoot.

Easy answer,
Except for when I was Military, I have never had life Insurence, I was pretty much un-insurable.
Wife had something through her work, a small amount I believe the intent was to pay for a burial.

Big life Insurence policies that way exceed the persons earnings, are to put it mildly, creepy.

The witnesses lied...The captain and Christopher Walken.

I’m at 10X my income. So is my wife. Tax free of course. Term policies at what multiple does it get creepy?

At some multiple you won’t get covered by the company. Not sure what that is.

Well, not "on" his boat.

Yes, I see the "holes" and the one clearly looks like a daggerboard slot. Apart from the " suitcases full of stolen coins" the rest of the story indicates gross stupidity, or ineptitude.
The again, considering the source of the story.....CNN.....who knows?

What happened to the baby? Story says they had "just welcomed a new daughter" when the trip started. No further mention.

Eileen Quinn "If I killed the Captain". If you really want to learn about longterm/livaboard cruising, then ignore all those 'how to' books, magazine artilces, DVDs and the like, just spend a afternoon listening to Eileen Quinn's albums, the reality is all covered within her playlist.

Funny, and oh so accurate. Not that we push one another overboard, but that the though can occur.

I know from personal experience with my first wife, that if tormentented sufficiently a person can commit “acts of passion.” I never did, but only months later realized how hair breadth close I came to putting her out of my misery. At the instant I had no idea, and it took some hard reflection to see it.

But I didn’t and a miss is a good as a mile. But I can have some compassion for folks in abusive circumstances.
