Soverel,
Two things: the last time we were in Ft. Meyers beach(2005) anchored in the "New" mooring field, the harbor was full of commercial offshore Shrimp boats moored on the North end of the harbor. They had a serious crack cocaine problem among the "sailors" on these boats which created continual mayhem in the form of thefts, stabbings, fights, and garbage in the harbor. There were also some reported murders. Perhaps it has changed.
But, with this in mind and the past experiences of the police, how should they have responded when you were filing a complaint(?) and you appeared to be smoking weed? Is this an honest, naive innocence on your part or were you hoping for a response from the police? We also have no idea how you were dressed at the time. Florida is full of dirt bag boaters. Perhaps their response to you was based upon that stereotype. Perhaps you can fill us in with more details since it would be certainly unjust and unprofessional for the police to have treated you badly and dismissed an obvious theft. How about some more details?
Oh ya. I remember that one. If a woman wears a short skirt she deserves to get raped too. Your on ignore.

Re: Ft myers beach

As it happens timeline.
June 1 i get a call from two different people about theft on my boat. Call sheriff and uscg. They respond. Find people returning ob and kayak to my boat. Sheriff tells me shes a nice lady trying to help( cut cable). Sheriff knows who they are. Let them go.

June 5 i return to boat to find broken into and other items missing.

June 8 i file new report with lcso. Spend time getting facts in order and emailing detective exact list of missing property. It is assumed vessel was gone that sheriff had initially found with my ob and kayak.

Yesterday i see said vessel again here. I emailed police again that they were around.

Today i get threatened. Drop it or else.
I think i hit a nerve.

Based on how touchy you appear to be I wonder if there is more to the story.

Alot more to it actually. But the basics are they cut lock. Cops let them go. Its ok. Appropriate authorities have been notified.

Re: Ft myers beach

Sorry soverel

You have got my alarm bells ringing. Who are all these folks calling you that your stuff is being stolen? And not calling the police? Then you come back a few days later

My guess is your running with the wrong crowd .

Re: Ft myers beach

Why don't you just go to a local magistrate and swear out an affidavit for an arrest warrant to be issued?

Re: Ft myers beach

The picture is becoming clearer on our Basil smoking sailor. Basil? Nice with a tomato vinaigrette . . . or perhaps lightly spiced in potato soup . . . but smoking? Here's a fellow initiate's first encounter with the magical weed. Perhaps Soverel can give us a critique on this young lady's performance. Good luck and smoke some Basil, man . . . . smoke some basil!

Re: Ft myers beach

This whole thing is starting to stretch my credibility. Being threatened by the police for reporting a crime? Maybe I'm naïve but not even in Ft Meyers Beach.

Ignoring a pushy citizen repeatedly calling about a very minor crime, sure. But threatening someone reporting a legitimate crime no matter how petty. Don't believe it. There's more to this than is being reported.

For one thing, how do we know that the woman the OP keeps talking about was not really being helpful? She could have seen the theft, observed where the real thieves stashed and returned it to the rightful owner only to be accused. As they say, no good dead goes unpunished.
