You aren't going to get me with that old trick! I tried patting myself on the back once and broke my arm! Another time I cut myself on the knife that was sticking out.

It won't stop at $10K but it is rounding the amount now. Before I chipped in, it was still displaying to the exact dollar, after I went back to see my "bump", I didn't get to see it because it went from $11,322 to the less precise $11.5K.

Sorry, I have no blog, I don't think anyone would find what I have to say even remotely interesting. If they did, I wouldn't want them to be reading it.

To Eric & Charlotte,

Excellent press release. Lots of people poised to offer all sorts of help. Be well.

Eric if you ever read this man,I want you to know that you have been an inspiration to me. You chose to live your life outside the "norms of society" and for that alone I have a great deal of respect and admiration. The string of bad luck that put you in this situation will soon end and you and your family will emerge stronger than ever. I can only wish our path will cross one day so I can shake your hand personally.....never stop follow you dreams brother....Constantin

Things have changed significantly. It's no longer a Sub Base...only four subs stationed in SD. Surface ships routinely berth at Ballast Point....no tenders at Ballast Point...a shoreside intermediate maintenance facility serves all types of ships.

Apologies if this link has already been posted. . . I try to keep up with this thread, but I'm sure I missed a page or two.
Fantastic article. Thank you for posting.

Whoa! We don't even know if they want a boat right now. Let our fiends catch breath & gather thoughts. This would be like Mom buying me the best Christmas sweater she could find. You think the debate is wild now, lets decide what boat someone else will sail. Maybe there is already a gov't agency assigned to control that part of our lives.

I agree, mind you , given the likes of the Daily Mail , being one step up from the national inquirer , I wouldn't be concerned about the flat earth commentary , prevalent on the site !. Landlubbers don't understand the sea and luckily they never will.

I don't know Eric or his partner nor the details of his circumstance, so I'll refrain from further comments , only to wish then well

As to Phil , I wonder if he'll ever use spot again

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

It's wonderful when you like to donate to this relief fund.

Others have posted this before but it seems to be ignored:
Keep your donation activities to yourself, no need to advertise what you did and no need to make use of a "morally and politically correct" opinion venting towards others that did not donate. If you think the total collected sum isn't enough, you could donate more yourself, instead of putting "moral pressure" onto others who have not deserved that treatment.

Bitter much? To be fair your post chastising us about not donating was extremely lame . It is none of your business who's giving and who's not, weather giving $10 or $500, it's doesn't concern you at all.

I'm bad, shouldn't have mentioned it, but thought it was great that it passed the goal.

MAKE SOME NOISE

I wonder how many boaters can sound horns on their arrival? Wish we could be there.

I just looked at the comments on Charlotte's blog and I am truly amazed at the hate spewing forth there. I had no idea.
