Christmas in the Caribbean

If you found yourself on a sailboat (mono or multi) in the Caribbean mid-December where would you want to anchor or moor during Christmas?

Re: Christmas in the Caribbean

If you want to have a communal Christmas dinner with mostly Americans, there has typically been a Christmas Eve and Christmas day gathering at Francis Bay/Little Majo Bay on St John in the USVI. I believe they meet at the campground there. We never attended, as by that time we had made our way down to Dominica or St Lucia, but it seemed to be a popular event.

Re: Christmas in the Caribbean

Thanks Hud3, I'm in St Martin right now but I'm undecided on which way to go. BVI/USVI are very attractive from here but I've never explored further south than Martinique. I suppose that I was fishing for some great stories or experiences about cruising the Caribbean during the holidays.

Re: Christmas in the Caribbean

I would go to Christmas Cove on the west side of Great St James Island for the large gathering. See here http://www.onlinecruisingguide.com/e...tmas-cove.html
