Changes in Catskill fuel and mast stepping

For anyone heading up the Hudson as things open up this spring, take note of changes at Catskill. Mast stepping used to be shared between Riverview Marina and Hop-O-Nose Marina, and after the flooding from Sandy only Riverview Marina has been selling fuel. Riverview has been sold and will become a houseboat inn. It is cooperating with Hop-O-Nose in transitioning fuel services, and will be moving its tanks to Hop-O-Nose. Meanwhile, Hop-O-Nose is planning on getting another crane to increase its stepping capabilities. If you have not been up Catskill Creek before, it is best to stay on the right as you come up the creek, and then shift to the left (south side) around the big hill as you turn into Hop-O-Nose. The marina is good and deep, but the creek has some shoaling on the far side across from the marina.
