That is good advice regarding anchoring elsewhere, further off the beaten path than just off Georgetown.

I do fish and am quite proficient at it. I can also survive on canned goods and ramen noodles, hotdogs etc...for a long time. I will use empty rum and vodka bottles as jugs for drinking water to avoid buying bottled water......I think I am being "green" as well

I will occassionally pot-luck with other boaters and am happy to share, but enjoy the solitude of sailing, but I do enjoy the occassional companionship of locals. I usually like to check out local sites, but I have a limited budget for tourist prices like $20 hamburgers and $10 cocktails.

CrusierBrad I believe the French Man you referred to was in a 16' bright yellow vessel. He had a small dog that went with him everywhere. This man was very nice. Living cheap for sure but bought me a beer at Peace and Plenty as we had met earlier that day. He was living on the cheap but definitely a 20%'er! Top shelf is not always based on financial status. He was hooked off of Volleyball Beach about 100 yards off of Chat n Chill facing Monument.

Pier, there are some places on island that do have good prices. Arlene's Food Truck across from Eddy's makes a great breakfast sandwich for $3.00. Is that in your budget/range?

I admit to dumping occassionally in harbours but almost always try to do so outside of harbour or general shoreline areas. I also like to swim and especially if there are other boats in the area I think it is just being courteous. I dont think it is asking too much to take a "little trip" for such a purpose. I mean, it is a boat and is mobile.

So, as a potential guest of our waters you DO admit that these "people" that pump their waste in the harbor are in the wrong and that you are not a supporter of swimming in excrement, urine and rancid food waste?

I would purchasse a breakfast sandwich to get some local flavor. Thanks for the tip. Peace and Plenty sounds like one of those $10 cocktail places which I will avoid.

A beer at Peace and Plenty is $5.00.

What are your feelings/thoughts on tipping and what would you tip on a $5.00 beer?

Yes, some people do dump, but this is not limited just to smaller modest boats

I actually avoid the little colonies of boats which anchor for long periods and do not move - it is clear what is going on there. Perhaps the current is strong and carries it away.....maybe.....maybe not....

If you bought groceries at Exuma Markets and a local carried 4 bags of your groceries down to the dinghy dock and placed them in your dinghy (assuming you have one) what would you do?

I would tip $1 on a beer. I might have to check it out if it is a local hot spot.

You are in 10% of the Cruiser population then. 90% tip NOTHING. It is insulting. Especially when they like to show up to use the washroom, wash their hands face and borrow toilet paper. You seem like a good guy that for whatever reason is on a tight budget.

Firstly, I only buy what I can carry. If a local offers assistance, I would politely decline.

If I need help, I would tip the local.

Maybe your budgetary restrictions are not as tight as you may feel they are.

Do you watch NFL Football?

On another note, what do you need to know about Great Exuma? Do you have any specific questions? I would like to help you stay away from the riff raff.

Killion you okay? seem a bit angry at everyone. Is there some specific point your working tword. I get this vibe that anyone who isn't of your grace and caliber should not associate near your lands. Whats the point and how does the NFL play into it. Is there a story here or are you just the angry righteous dude?
