marina in st Thomas

Need to leave 40 ft catamaran for couple months in St. John or St Thomas and
looking for security and services on location. Any suggestions?

well FYI have left my cat in Sopers Hole on a mooring on Tortola and it was well watched by the guys at Voyage. Also there is a nice marina there. Short Ferry to St. Thomas and it's aesthetically much better than St. Thomas for many reasons!
good luck

Thanks for that. I believe Tortola is currently off limits due to covid 19, correct me if that's wrong

So sorry you may be right .
My time was pre covid when we roamed the earth like dinosaurs.
However that may not be such a good analogy if you think about what happened to them.

We used to keep our boat at Independent Boat Yard. Its been a while so I don't know what the situation is anymore but they are reasonably priced and they have a Budget Marine chandlery on site.

well if you want gated and security you're looking at yacht haven grande or american yacht harbor, both are insanely expensive. sapphire bay has security but it's not gated an and again is pretty expensive. we had our boat at compass point marina, not gated and no security but it's so tucked away that I think a lot of people don't know it's there or how to get to it.

Can I ask what you’re considering insanely expensive at the two you mentioned? I tried googling their rates but didn’t turn anything up. Honest question, just trying to get a sense.

I was quoted $1.70 per foot/night +$35 service fee for a 38' mono and longer than 30 days. That works out to $2000 per month. They also charged metered rates for electricity and water. I anchored out instead.

The price goes up even more for > 49'

Great information thanks. I don’t want to hijack the thread but since it was mentioned, I was hoping to get a little more information. Very helpful.
