Good Marina Options in the Savannah/Beaufort/Charelston

We need to leave our boat for a few weeks on our trip north and are looking for feedback on good marina options in the Savannah/Beaufort/Charleston area. Any good spots that offer some security and storm protection would be a plus. We have someone in Hilton Head that can check on the boat if needed. The reality is we would be leaving her unattended for the most part.

Any local knowledge would be much appreciated.

I cannot believe no one has responded to this. I'd like info also, but keep waiting for someone who has knowledge of these marinas.

You need to go a little further South to Brunswick Landings Marina.
I know of a Marina in Thunderbolt but don’t know how good it is.
Except for rare instances, that whole area is not a real good place to be in a Storm

Lady’s island marina in Beaufort is great for that. We leave ours there frequently. The marina manager will also check on for if you like. We are 50 ft with 6 ft draft and they have room.

St. John's yacht harbor in Charleston is a great spot to leave a boat..

I’d leave my boat at the City Marina in downtown Charleston. Nice folks. Reasonably secure. Pretty good protection. Easy stop via ICW or outside. Good restaurants and transportation.

Re: Good Marina Options in the Savannah/Beaufort/Charelston

Hi all,

Thanks for the inputs. After posting I found another post asking for the same and it had lots of good responses which were very helpful. I ended up at the mega doc at the Charleston City Marina which turns out to be a good spot. Nice access to the city and easy in and out. Clean bathrooms and showers as well as a shuttle service.

Note: the current is strong even inside the marina proper so plan accordingly.

If anyone wants further details on our stay or other Charleston info feel free to PM me.
