Re: Crossing the Bahamas Grand Bank

We clear in at Bimini move on to anchor off Cat Cay for the night. We travel the next day to Frazer-Hog and anchor there. During good weather we have no problem anchoring anywhere on the Bank. We anchor well away from the magenta line.

If you decide to leave from Ft. L. I suggest you stay at Las Olas City Marina. They have quite reasonable dockage and moorings. I have done it the past 2 summers enroute to the Abacos. It is easy to do final provisioning there and you are past the outer mark in about 30 minutes. Stay south of the Las Olas bridge which bisects the marina to avoid the drawbridge.

I was thinking sailing at night surely. But the Admiral doesn't like it, moreover when there are only the two of us and that she needs to take a watch by herself. But the idea to leave in the early morning seems good. I can take a nap when she is sailing by herself... In day light she will have no problem.
Thanks all
If you`re lucky and get a window with a full moon it`ll be like sailing during the day.
