Winter in Sicily: Capo Orlando vs Ragusa

iIm trying to make up my mind about which of these two marinas is best for spending the winter in Sicily.

Any feedback from sailors who actually spent a winter there?

Pros and cons?

Re: Winter in Sicily: Capo Orlando vs Ragusa

I'm italian living in northern italy. not yet cruised Sicily: will be a summer holiday.
I rented a berth in Marina Ragusa for the winter season after checking also Capo dOrlando.
Ragusa is better because the area is wonde ful- Siracusa, Agrigento 1hour by car, much better than northern Sicily.
Comiso airport is 30 min. Away. Capo d'orlando nearst airport is Palermo 2 hours away.
Obly advantage for capo d'orlando is it is 20 miles from Eolian Island, while Marina Ragusa is 50 miles from Malta.

Just curious: How much did that berth in Marina Ragusa cost?

Marcot, thanks! That's not a bad deal.

I once lived in Catania, and heartily concur with you and the Boatman that the south coast is where it's at.

Another place I like a lot is Mazara del Vallo..
Lovely town and great people with some excellent restaurants.. the 'marina' where I stayed was a bit basic but everything else more than made up for it.. do recommend caution once inside the harbour as it's quite stilted up.
The town with the Agrigento marina is not top of my list I must confess.. everyone wants to be a 'godfather'..
Home of Don Corleone..
The Godfather momentos everywhere.

Any experience with Sciacca? I'm buying a house nearby and couldn't help noticing the port...not my favorite coast, but definitely my favorite house!
