I'll be sailing the Croatian coast this summer and am at the same time having a spinnaker
pole made by Pauger Carbon in Budapest, Hungary. Consequently I have to figure out the best way to have it delivered from the factory to the boat
- seems like my options are:
- Hire a minivan when I get to Croatia, drive to Budapest and just pick it up myself (bearing in mind it's 7m long...)
- Pay to have it freighted to me at predetermined port when I'm there waiting for it. Likely means my item is the only thing on the truck so expensive.
- Have it freighted in advance and stored somewhere until I arrive meaning it can go with other items and share delivery cost
Number 3 would no doubt be the cheapest if I can find somewhere to have it delivered to prior to my arrival so the freight company can just bundle it with other goods sometime in May/June/July.
So, does anyone live, or know someone who lives along the Croatian coast that wouldn't mind a 7m long spinnaker
pole sitting in their garage (or even outside) for several weeks? More than happy to offer a days sailing in return as thanks!
