We are all waitng for what we call the january calms. Ussualy, the anticylone pays a long visit to the western med in January. The sea gets realy calm, the sun shines, the almondtree flurish... As the weather pattern is quite different now, just wait in Almería, which is a cheap and friendly place. Your time will come.

The january calms have only a problem: less wind. But it's better han crossing it now.

If you just want to get out of Almerimar, stop by in Cartagena for a change of scene. We're at Yacht Port Cartagena until April. According to their website, they charge cats the same as monohulls.

Cartagena

Hello Solstice

Yes, we shall definitely be stopping off in Cartagena - thank you for the marina details.

Typing one-handed as I have a fractured finger as a result of being mugged in Almerimar marina - have just started another thread on this topic!

Looking forward to meeting up with you, maybe next month after our fibreglass cockpit roof has been completed
