Re: Mozzies

I spent some time trekking through the Amazon during 'get eaten alive' season and I only got bitten once - the remedy:
  • Linen and long-sleeved shirts, saturated in insect repellent and then allow to dry (this repeated every 3 days).
  • Oil of lavendar (the real stuff, not EsteeLauder) on the exposed parts of the skin: neck, upper chest, ears, cheeks, ankles and lower legs (you get it on your hands anyway) - just remember not to rub your eyes for an hour or so after application.
The good thing about the OoL was that it was rain-proof to some extent, so I could suffer the daily deluge without having to re-apply.

I agree with the comment earlier about netting and reducing the probability in the first place.

Re: Mozzies

Funny video. When I had my first child, I was giving him the old airplane ride a little too soon after he'd "eaten". Got it all right in the kisser too. Lesson learned.

Re: Mozzies

They are attracted to light like other night time critters.
Go to wally world or your local cemetery and obtain about 4 solar lights.
Put them on your neighbors boat........telling him he needs more light.Problem solved.
If they are the daytime zombie ones a shotgun works well.Be cautious of your backstop.Do not shoot out neighbors night lights.....

I've tried it. Think I'd rather take my chances with the mozzies.

Re: Mozzies

The Co2 traps work great as long as you put them out strategically and start them early,,takes them a while working before you notice the real difference.
