Great website, I can tell you put a lot of work into this, very informative and enjoyable.

If okay with you, I would like to ask you for specific info/experiences regarding Sardinia, particularly the Southern region roughly the area from Carloforte in the Southwest to Cagliari, Villiasimius in the Southeast.

I am currently lying in Tunisia and will likely visit Sardinia this coming fall with the intent to winter there.

I have been to BONIFATIO in Corsica. you must inter in daylight. it is impossible to see the enterance in the dark, especially in bad weather.

Sorry about the late reply, but I've been in Australia and New Zealand for the last 7 weeks. Thanks for your praise!

I can't actually say much more about Southern Sardinia than I've put on the site. All the info I received since my first post on the subject has been included. There were some very good inputs from people who've been there more recently than myself, many praising Cagliari as a good wintering spot. Hope that helps!

Thanks Jim and Mike,

I too heard that Cagliari is a good wintering place but then was informed that they are crowded and berths are difficult to get. Frankly I find this a bit difficult to believe since there are at least 3 marinas that I am aware of including rather large areas for staying on the hard.

In any event: current info / experiences would be highly welcome. I am most likely not going to the Norther; several reasons for that, not the least being apparent high prices when compared to the South of Sardinia.

We will be leaving our boat in Cagliari this summer and probably next winter. We would like to share some ideas with you.

We are currently outside Rome, sailing south next week towards Sicily, then to Malta and over to Tunisia and back up to Sardinia.

We have emailed a place in Cagliari for a quote, and know some other cruisers who are there now. We wondered about leaving our boat further north next winter but it seems places are scarce, and expensive.
