If we're measuring by area, then Siberia means more than the US and Europe combined

UK is 66 million people, and the 5th largest economy in the world, and a nation for more than 1000 years. Comparison to Oregon is silly.

The EU is NOT indeed any kind of United States of Europe, even if some people hope that it will gradually become that, and the constituent nations of the EU are not much like US states.

Continues to slide? Spent much time in the UK lately? Brits love to complain, but the UK is not sliding. The politics can be pretty ugly, but nothing compared to US politics. There are social problems but nothing like ours. The Nordic countries are better organized and run, have a better political culture, and have got more things right, but the UK is an awfully nice place. Not one of the American expats I know in the UK plans to ever go back; most haven taken British passports.

UK will be just fine out of the EU. I am fairly agnostic about Brexit myself, and Brexit certainly harms my business and my personal interests, but there are a lot of good reasons to do it. There are also good reasons to stay. Its a hard question, which should not have been solved in the way it was. But now finally there is clarity and a clear way forward. It will be OK.

Oh that's easy. Since we have some 20,000 miles of superb coastline to explore just stay at home? If you must go abroad to stock up on booze, cheese and chocolates, 90 days will do nicely. There is only so much foreign food you can take before needing fish and chips, roast beef and real beer properly warmed.

Interesting times ahead I think, might even need to dig out my passport for foreign travel. Wonder if its still got the message from Her Maj' inside saying "requires and demands"

The same way we Americans have. I spent 6 years in the Med and well it got interesting a few times as I counted days and you need to know who cares and who does not. As full time liveaboards I wintered over 2 years in Tunisia, 3 winters in Turkey and 1 winter in Israel. Just left Morocco and that would most definitely a possibility. Maybe the folks will have something worked out for you.

I saw one comment on health insurance, I don't carry any. I pay out of pocket but then again I am fairly healthy. But that does not mean I don't go to see docs as I do.

Thats great,so the uk gets to lose all the small scale beef and lamb farms when they can't compete with cheaper imports.

Then in turn the farms are bought up by property speculators for penny's on the pound,developed by tory speculators and their foreign backers,then resold as second homes for the wannabe landed gentry.

in the process putting tenants,impoverished owners and workers off the land that have now nowhere to live,due to the massive shortage of affordable housing in the uk,that has been engineered by wealthy (tory)speculators to keep rent's and property prices high.

perhaps this has been the plan all along

next will be bringing in 50,000 philipino "contract" nurses paid at less than the minimum wage and agricultural workers housed in labour camps
