Black Sea

Hi everyone, this our first post. We are currently awaiting an engine refit here in the black sea. Does anyone have any experience of black sea winter sailing?
We are weighing up the decision to stay here until spring or day sail to somewhere further south and a bit warmer.

I don’t know much about sailing the Black Sea in winter, but have read historical accounts that lagoons and shallow inlets around Crimea can freeze over with appreciable ice thickness. And Russia is apparently spoofing GPS signals in northeastern portions of the Black Sea
