Big catamaran in the Mediteranean

How difficult is it to cruise the Mediteranean witha Leopard 47?
Mostly anchoring out, with the occasional visit to a fuel dock.
What is your experience?

Re: Big catamaran in the Mediteranean

Got friends with a 51' Trimaran running around the Med. Seems a little 47' Cat would be a piece of cake.

It aint the boat, its the Captain

Re: Big catamaran in the Mediteranean

I see enough catamarans of this side passing through, so in general it's isn't a problem. Having less than 8m beam still puts you into the standard-size for cats in most places. Just expect to pay by the square-meter for any berth, but as a catamaran-owner, you should be used to this.

Sure, you might not be able to use all and every marina, but the same applies to monohulls with 2m draft. And you will have to shop around for a shipyard able to haul you out, if you ever need to.
