Yeah - there was a thread about this a bit ago... Posted a link to an article about a kid (18yo) who was developing a solar powered skimmer to support cleaning.

Living in Indonesia now and it is incredible how much normal plastic garbage just goes into the rivers/ocean. Can't imagine all the industrial plastic waste and pellets falling from ships etc...
