Trimar Trimaran MKII

condition: good
size / dimensions: 46’ low 22 beam 4’ draft

I never expected to part with her this way, but I am about upside down and I can no longer carry the cost of maintenance and slip fees. I have owned her for 21 years and its a great boat. If you have been out on the lower bay you probably have seen her.
A USCG Documented Vessel, launched in 1971, she is constructed of marine plywood and a fiberglass skin. Previously powered by two 25 hp outboards raised and lowered on sleds by mechanical advantage, with one in forward and one in reverse she can pivot on her axis. Center Cockpit, Ketch rigged, 46' long not counting the bowsprit and 22' wide with 3 cockpits for lots of deck space and two trampolines between the fore decks. lots of room for everybody.
Down below, she sleeps 5, 2 doubles and a v-berth. Aft is the Captains quarters with a double berth. Honduran mahogany cabinets and trim.
Make Me An Offer I Can Accept.
The outboards have been removed.
Two new motors will make this sweet. (approximately $5,000 each) Also needs a long overdue bottom cleaning and painting (approximately $2500 including haulout by crane).
All in all a great boat for someone who looks like me 20 years ago. More money than sense, lots of energy and a love for the water.
I no longer can keep her. Just reduced from $35,000 to $25,000. Make Me An OfferK

The Lower Chesapeake Bay. I keep her in Hampton VA. Most of the pictures were taken recently, last couple of months. The pictures underway were taken by others over time.
I have several others of the interior I can send if you are interested. Dbrown0134@gmail.com

Thumbs up Re: Trimar Trimaran MKII

Hello,
Would you mind sending me everything you have on her? I need to know all the particulars, the condition everything is in, if you want a serious offer, that is. I am in Indiana and only care to make the trip for inspection if I have complete data beforehand. I am sure you can understand the situation. I looked online for the same make and model and there is nothing out there after a couple of hours searching. They apparently made very few of them, and some time ago. It is a nice looking boat. : )

This is my email: genesis_ark@yahoo.com

Looks like you have kept her in good shape.

Appreciated,
Scott

Re: Trimar Trimaran MKII

Hi Scott,
Indiana is quite a trip. For one, I don’t see how you could get this boat inland. As far as particulars, what specifically would you need to know.
The boat has all you need to have a great boat except outboard engines.New Auto helm electronic sensor and wheel drive electronics and wheel guts. New anchor rode and 75’ chain. New dual function dual controls. New harness and cables on the port side. The chart plotter works but is old, I now use a tablet. Hot water heater, 2 40 gal water tanks, 50 Gal fuel tank. 30 amp. Radio and radar hardly ever used.
The suit of sails are about 17 years old in very good condition, full batten with lazy jacks. Roller furling is a CDI and was retrofitted with new furling from the newer model. Sail covers are 3 years old. Maxwell winches.
I hoping to sell her to someone who sails the lower Chesapeake Bay so I might get to join them for a sail a few more times.

Re: Trimar Trimaran MKII

Dear Sir.
Thanks for your reply. How do you manage without a head? Perhaps you forgot to list it? I think I am going to need to become much more savvy about all aspects of sailing before I make a purchase. Just buying a great looking boat moving aboard and pointing on a southerly heading is certainly tempting though. I am sure you will find a great match for your boat in time. I hope you will pardon my novice enthusiasm. Maybe readings books on sailing will be the next step.

Re: Trimar Trimaran MKII

Hello my name is Nathan, I’m up on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. I was wondering if she’s still available, where the motors have gone, and if you have done a video of it on YouTube? I’ll send you my information if you get back to me. Namaste, Nathan. ⚓️

Re: Trimar Trimaran MKII

Hello Nathan,, yes the boat is still available. I discarded the engines as they outlived their reliability. I had hoped to have them serviced for sale, but they just weren’t worth repair. They were 18 years old.

Re: Trimar Trimaran MKII

I’m sorry so long on the response. renaldo71@gmail.com is my address. I know things are shut down now, but what are things like in Virginia? Are they still under lockdown, and what would be the scenario if I’d flown down to see the boat? Would I have to quarantine on the boat for 14 days? Please email me your contact information, including your phone, and we can connect. I’m sorry to hear life and money has taken the fun out of your plans. Namaste brother, Nathan.
