Seeking 65 to 80ft unfinished hull
Hi all,
Looking to find an unfinished 65 to 80 ft mono hull to complete in my own fashion.
Fiberglass or Aluminium preferred.
Steel is okay if in good to excellent condition, not interested in a rust bucket however.
Wood is for masochists, beautiful, but I don't want to own one.
And ferro cement shouldn't float... "..very small rocks!"
Please touch base if you have, or know of something applicable, not having much luck searching online.
Thanks,
MTD

You didn't say if it was for power or sail?

Where in the world (literally) are you looking for this boat? Considering the size and that it would be an unfinished hull, location is really important.

Thanks to all for initial responses
In re queries:
A sailboat hull!
Location is flexible, but ideally in the States, & proximal to marine facilities.

I hope you realize the hull may be the least of the cost?

Have a look here:

Southwell 51. Looks like good deal in dollars if you like design.

have a look at Hoek Brokerage » Hoek Brokerage Classic yachts Nieko hoek is a famous dutch naval architect. They started this project but it is a Nathanel Herreshoff schooner. Very nice but very expensive. Invite me when ready please. Have fun looking at it.

Re: Seeking 65 to 80ft unfinished hull
Why is it (that) people responding to such an ad nearly always suggest something that simply does not meet the criteria? eg: The OP specifically asked for an unfinished hull of 65' to 80' ... in reading the responses, I saw only two that met this basic requirement. One of them, an older vessel, gave the appearance of being a wood hull but in the supporting information it was said to be FG. and yet, Uncle Stinky Bob commented his belief to be a wooden hull? Do people not read these posts before responding?
The only other contender would be the Dutch vessel (I didn't see a length given). Beautiful looking boat, but can the OP afford it? Speaking as 'we' who have completed boats from a bare hull/deck assy. the hull is the cheapest part of such a project.

Re: Seeking 65 to 80ft unfinished hull
Call me dogmatic if you wish but if a fellow asks for a 65-80 ft boat, what makes you think he'd settle for a 50 footer?
