O'Day 39 - Jeanneau Sun Fizz - 1984 New Bern NC $68,500

Dror is an 1984 O'Day 39, the same design as the Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40 by Phillipe Briand. She is a cruiser/racer, fast, maneuverable, comfortable for self sufficient liveaboard use and capable of world cruising. Draft 5.5 feet with bulb keel, suitable for ICW and Bahamas without compromising performance. 3 sleep cabins, one head with option for a second. A huge amount of accessible storage as well as under bunk storage. Wet locker.
From 2006 to 2018 we extensively updated and upgraded Dror.

Engine: Universal Diesel 5444 44HP suitable for motoring continuously at hull speed. Heat Exchanger overhauled and sea water pump upgraded. Its Kubota block makes repairs affordable. Spare fresh water pump and starter. Exhaust elbow replaced 2020. All hoses were replaced. Cuttless bearing replaced in 2017.

Sailing Rig,Sails and Auxiliary:
New stays, aluminum mast step
Hydrovane self steering with spare paddle and spare rudder
Solent sail with flexible furler and quick release
5 anchors, CQR x 2, Bruce, Fisherman, Danforth
Sails : Main with 3 reefs plus flattening reef, storm main, cruising heavy duty 160% Genoa, 110 Jib used on solent furler, Gennaker.
Stackpack sail cover and lazy jacks.
Webbing jacklines.
Lifelines replaced with Dyneema 5mm (Amsteel) with netting added 2017
Keel dropped, keel bolts inspected in 2017
Rudder rebuilt and strengthened in 2017
New electric EBT auto pilot 2017
170' HT chain, with 150' nylon rode
Propellor with new spare
Dinghy-tow system.

Interior Upgrades:
Newly Reupholstered settees and mattresses.
Inside teak sole, doors, cabinet fronts and doors and walls restored and treated with easy to maintain Waterlox oil
Installed high efficiency 3.5 cf freezer and separate 3.5 cf refrigerator
Replaced hot water heater
2 large aluminum propane tanks in a dedicated vented locker.
Installed additional propane on demand hot water heater providing hot water when anchoring
Heat pump HVAC 16,000 BTU with microprocessor soft start designed to work with Honda 2000i for HVAC at anchor.
Quiet low energy fans in cabins
Additional flip up work tables in the main cabin, galley and one aft cabin.
New gimbaled stove
Lee cloths added to both port and starboard main cabin settees
Insulation and cleanable upholstery on walls of V Berth. Under mattress ventilation
Insulation added under the new fiberglass ceiling boards
Privacy curtains throughout
Mosquito screens
Removable security bars for the 2 main hatches and companionway (allows airflow with security)

Electronic Equipment:
Garmin Chartplotter with WiFi remote
Standard Horizon VHF with AIS, remote microphone and speaker plus horn.
Tri-data depth,log,temperature
ICOM SSB/Ham with remote faceplate and KISS groundplane
Flooded industrial 380AH house bank batteries
410 Watt solar panels with MPPT controller
Balmar High capacity alternator with external smart controller
Raymarine independent ST-70 Pathfinder Radar
Wind sensor.
Lofrans Electric windlass installed in the anchor locker.

Upgrades:
All through hulls and seacocks replaced with Apollo seacocks.
Head system redesigned with dip tubes and large vents. Increased holding tank to new 35 gallon tank. Pneumatic self cleaning level gauge
Fully enclosed cockpit with interchangeable Makralon windows, mosquito screens and sun/rain shades.
Makralon dodger with shades
Cockpit heating system when motoring.
Spare hatch lenses.
Whole boat shade.
