For Sale: Beautiful Benford 30 Cutter Center Cockpit

Up for sale is our 1980s vintage Benford cutter rigged sailing dory. As you will see in the pictures she is a real sweetheart. Solid and clean and sails very nicely. She is a Bahamas veteran having made the trip twice from the Great Lakes and back. Very clever and comfortable layout. She elicits compliments wherever she goes. Sadly we have too many boats and she must be sold. Located near Ottawa Canada on the hard...cradle included of course. Asking $15,000 USD.
Engine Yanmar 2GM20F is like new with extremely low hours....so clean you could if you wanted...purrs
Mainsail is full batten....like new....very crisp and crunchy like
Furling jib is good condition
New waterproof luxury vinyl flooring
Freshly painted in and out except for bottom which is OK for 1 more season
Spars freshly epoxies and varnished (Cetol)
Brand new Jabsco head...never used

A little history on "Ambience"
She was professionally built in Scarborough by a yard that used to build Thunderbird 26s using quality materials....fir, mahogany and teak. The owner of the shop had his men build this Benford design for him and his wife to cruise on and they took her to the Bahamas and back twice. In preparation for the third trip he decided to switch out the original Atomic 4 for a brand new Yanmar 2GM20F. Unfortunately his wife became ill and passed away and that trip didn't happen. The vessel saw little use since then and then I aquired her.
She points surprisingly high and sails well in the slightest of airs.
Amazing amount of storage space. Huge easily accessed lockers and a large sensible ventilated hanging locker.
Coleman "Extreme" cooler in a drawer in Galley. ...keeps ice for 5 days.
Fold down extendable galley counter.
The aft cabin is just gorgeous and very comfy with its own head concealed beneath the step up into the cockpit. Very handy for night time pees.

Sorry for the continued posts but I keep thinking of things I missed but worthy of mentioning like the brand new $1200 custom boom tent which covers most of the boat and incorporates a rain catchment spigot made by Keeble Canvas.

Woooohoooooo!!! After having dealt with more than a few dreamers, and a couple of schemers....oh and the proverbial just plain ole tire kickers...
I am happy to report that I think Ambience has found new owners in the way of a young couple who want to love on her as much as we did....
Will know for sure in a few days...wish us luck in the second happiest day of a sailors life!
