1981 CHB Family Vessel 41'

A go almost anywhere vessel. 41' and 44' overall. CHB in great shape. It is in Poulsbo WA. If not sold by May or Jun will be bring down south to Calif. The price now through me only and no brokers is $55,000. If I bring it down to So. Calif the price will go up to around $75,000 or more. It needs some sanding and painting, some varnish work. Possible changes in the saloon, meaning some more furniture. It has a nice covered and padded bench seat. But I think could use an upgrade to the interior which I personally would do if I bring the boat down to Calif. Upper deck has a nice canvas top great like new stainless frame but the lower part could be replaced. I have all the older lower pieces so new measurements not necessary. Maybe not need as much in So Calif as in PNW. I believe all of the work can be done by the owner, but you can also hire someone and so if I invest say $7k $10k (To hire someone) I would raise the price to $79,000.. It can look like the really beauty it is with some sanding and paint/varnish. It really does not look that bad right now, I am just kind of a fanatic to have it look like new. I have not had time to put into it up until now. But I live in Calif so I need to bring it down here. Buy it where it is and save a ton of money. It is not far to enjoy the San Juan Islands head to Alaska, or just cruise around Washington so many waterways.

Re: 1981 CHB Family Vessel 41'

Can you explain what a "CHB Family Vessel" is? Is that a make or a model?

Re: 1981 CHB Family Vessel 41'

Um, well A CHB is the manufacture's name made in Taiwan with many other names . It is a trawler category. But they say Family Vessel. I guess a advertising feature. But they are Trawlers and a very sturdy vessel. Mine is twin diesel engines Ford Lehman 120's I believe one of the most reliable, efficient and simple diesels made. They are long distance and not fast. It you put the throttle's all the way forward it raises its head up out of the water, huge wake but maybe 12 kts. Most run the vessel at 8-10kts and around 1000-1600 rpm. I am in no hurry and run around 9 to 10kts. My fuel burn is around 2.5 3.5 gph both engines running. If I make the trip to Calif i will know for sure on burn rate for one engine and two engines at different speeds. My vessel hold 400 gallons of fuel. Plus I also have 15gal spares in three 5 gal plastic tanks. Thanks for stopping by.

Re: 1981 CHB Family Vessel 41'

The vessel is 44' overall. I was going to being the vessel down to Calif last summer but the guy and his son had a last minuet cancellation, so i never did get to bring it down yet. I will this year if it does not sell by then. I have decided to not take on a partner. I want it sold, my plans have changed.

By the way I have an older website that has a lot of information on this vessel and more pics. See at, well, email me for the website. Thanks.
