I just spent a lot of time aboard both the
Lagoon 440 and the Moorings 4600. One thing struck me with both boats however would be a huge issue for me on the
Lagoon and somewhat of a issue on the
Leopard. The
cockpit where you spend most of your time has zero ventilation on the
Lagoon and restricted ventilation on the Moorings/Leopard 4600. The conventional
helm station allows for full ventilation when the
dodger is unzipped on on most cats. This was a huge downside to me that I was not aware of before until spending a bunch of time at
anchor on both boats. The original 4600 had a ventilation slot that could be opened and closed however it appears this has been deleted on all the newer productions models.
With a Voyage 500 and a
Lagoon 440 rafted together everyone was on the Voyage
boat because the
cockpit was so much cooler.
