Sliding contact type switches are "cleaned" by use. By exercising them, you may improve their resistance.

this is criminal. Bavaria use to master switch awg 000 and to busbar 0 awg 1 meter cable

I recommend an alternator voltage that gives you 14.3V where it needs to be. Namely, the house battery bank. My alt has remote sensing, so it varies as high as 15.1. Isolators and wire length makes marine charging a bit tricky.
A fixed alt output V is unlikely to bring joy.
