Victron MPPT Blue vs. Smart

I'm getting ready to add more solar and another Victron Charge controller. Right now I have one BlueSolar and one SmartSolar controller.

Apparently the Bluecontroller isn't able to sync it's mode with the SmartControllers.

So, I'm trying to decide if I should replace the BlueController with a Smart at the same time I add the third controller. I'm just not sure there is an efficiency gain by syncing the controllers.

Does anyone know if there is any real advantage to the controllers syncing?

I've heard of issues with controllers "seeing" each other, and going into float too soon. If they are synced then one becomes the master and the states of the others matches up. I think syncing is better.
