Torqeedo 4.0 No Battery Status

If anyone is familiar with the Torqeedo electric motors, I am unable to get the "enumeration" to run. I am able to get it started but once on the screen it freezes with 0% (complete) ENU then 255 which I have no idea what that means. No reference whatsoever within documentation beyond how to start that process. No reference to the 255. Pretty frustrating. Just put batteries back in boat after storing for winter. Charged them up, hooked them up. Then must re establish communications between power and motor. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Turns out the data cable connection at the motor must have had a slight bit of corrosion . Cleaned the pins and everything worked fine. I did check with Torqeedo and they were helpful in steering me to the data cable.

What did you use to clean the connector on the data cable?

A little alcohol, q tip and compressed air. Probably a little moisture got in over the winter - stored outside in the Northeast.

Re: Torqeedo 4.0 No Battery Status

Maybe a bit off topic but I made two these "light packs" out of VW E-UP modules.
Only 10 kg, and 48V nominel (57V top), and 25AH.

Cost me less each less than 50 dollar incl the bicycle bag that i found on ebay from china.
One battery only gives me about 15 min range at 14 knots, but if that not enough i can just bring two batteries for 30 min at 14 knots.

Going slow, with the whole family on-board I can easily do 1-2 hours at like 3 knots.

Ofcourse there is no CAN interface from the battery to the motor, but the motor cuts at 44V and thats 3,14V pr cell so it works quite well this way.

I charge them onboard with an 500W charger at 2 hours.
