Shore power not working

I have a Lagoon 410, when I plug in the shore power cord I'm not getting any juice at the panel.

I have an HVAC hook-up that is working.

Nothing seems to have tripped off at the panel.

Where should I look for the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

(The cord is pretty new and the indicator light shows power at the cord head.)

Re: Shore power not working

To find your problem I would take a voltmeter and start checking voltage from your shore power receptacle towards your AC panel until I found the problem. However, I do not know how experienced you are trouble-shooting electrical circuits.

It is rare, but people have died from electrocution from 120 Volts AC. It is not to be messed with if you are not 100% certain of yourself.

Here is what I recommend. Make certain you have voltage at the shore power source. Then try a different power cord. If still no power, then read any manuals you have to see if there is a circuit breaker close by the power inlet that may be shut off.

If still no joy then find a marine electrician and have him find and fix the problem. This is not the cheapest solution, but is the safest.

Best of luck!

Are you saying you have two shorepower cords, one for circuits on a panel, and one dedicated to HVAC only? 30-amp cords?

Or do you mean you have one shorepower cord feeding two legs of your boat, one leg for various circuits on the panel and one leg for the HVAC? 50-amp cord?

Re: Shore power not working

Problem solved! An unnamed person hit a breaker putting a jerry can away. (She is forgiven.)

I do have two 30 amp inlets and can either use two cords or a 50 splitter. There is a dedicated 30 amp socket just for HVAC.

EDIT- Chris, please excuse my rudeness in not thanking you for trying to help to me get my hands around a flipped breaker!

Re: Shore power not working

When there is no power, the first thing to look for is a tripped breaker (or a disconnected cord). This should be automatic.
