Northern Lights Generator M643 5kw

Hello again, OK, fitted the new brushes to the generator & bingo, power again! However, it's putting out 110v & is running the water heater which pulls 14amps but as soon as you ask for more with the battery charger the engine starts to die. I quickly shut the battery charger off & the engine picked up again. It doesn't sound as perky as usual....what now? any suggestions?

Have you had a look at the Operator's Manual?
