Norpro Genset wont stay running

We have a Nor'pro genset with a Yanmar Engine. The Nor'pro 5NY, Yanmar 2TNe68. We are bring fuel from the diesel jug, and fuel is flowing throughout the system. We are using the diesel jug since the Holley lift pump died.
The problem is, the generator runs for about an hour, or half hour, and then quits. It is hard to start after it quits. When it cools down, and I think takes a nap, we can start the next day. Any suggestions on how to keep this thing running?
