KVH M5 Sat TV System Question

Hi Gang,

I bought my Hunter 49 a few years ago, and it came with a KVH M5 Satellite TV System. It requires a subscription to Direct TV to work. The technology has moved past it now, and KVH does not sell this model anymore. It would theoretically be great to have for watching TV off the west coast from Alaska to Mexico (if I recall correctly). It takes up a lot of space, and I'm thinking of canning it.

If the KVH system was in your boat, would you leave it installed? One argument I heard was that it would help the boat on resale, but to me it is like the SSB radio that I recently sold for a few bucks. It also takes up a lot of space on the back of the boat, and in two compartments inside the boat. I'm thinking it is gone, but wondered if the forum would confirm or share some other bit of experience or advice.
