A potentiometer is an adjustable resistor, only suitable for minor voltage adjustments, such as due to battery chemistry charging voltages.

The manufacturers clarified the situation:

One needs to change both the circuit board & the stator.


So we will start from scratch, sell this unit and try for a 12v version.

I wonder if there's a difference between a 12 and a 24 volt stator, or do they make four versions of stators, i.e. 12, 24, 36 and 48 volt versions.
The reason I ask is that the wind speed starting point of my 24 volt version for a 12 volt bank is the same as a 12 volt version. Hmmmmmm...
