General Info: Lagoon TPI's

The Lagoon TPI's are appealing to me based upon their quality of build. I realize the layout and design is old but they appear to be good solid quality built boats. Several are hitting the market lately at what seems good listing prices with the understanding that they probably need upgrades in electronics and other systems. Other than being long in the tooth, is there anything specific that would warrant not to consider either the 37 or 42 as a viable candidate for cruising?

You may wish to look into and consider the Lagoon 35CCC as well. It is also TPI built but, at least in my opinion, which might be biased since I recently purchased one, is more desirable due to it's galley up and large open salon configuration. We absolutely love ours. we searched many years for the right boat and due to many reasons, shaft drives being one, and the high quality of craftsmanship and robust build quality being another, we luckily stumbled upon hull 7 of 11 in amazing condition. I feel the scrimp method of construction and the fit and finish throughout the boat speaks volumes for her seaworthiness. Whatever you find or decide, good luck and enjoy!!!!! Lastly, she is designed to be a coastal cruiser, so depending on your intentions it may not suit your needs.
