I also feel 2 is better than one, but i'm not a mechanical engineer and know nothing about rigging. So quite curious on this.

Lagoon uses both Sparcraft and Z-Spar. I do believe going from one to the other is cost driven. Probably among other reasons like production delay etc ...

When it comes to rigs, I won't dispute your choice, however it's the "failure mode" that concerns me!

When in "stability and support mode" my experience is that no rig, no matter it's design, lasts forever. They are all prone to deterioration which can terminate with a switch of "mode".

Current base for the 450S is €381200 for 3 cabin €385200 for 4 cabin.

At the Boot Dusseldorf yesterday Lagoon suggested the 450 line is booked till late 2019 so would not expect a replacement anytime soon.

I picked up hull# 653 (F) on Nov 26th so I expect they’re on high 600’s now.

Replacement of L450 presumably is L46 as can be found on the website of the German Lagoon Dealer:

We asked beginning of 2018 when ordering our 450s for the latest possible delivery date. We will get the catamaran in September 2019, guess anytime soon after that Lagoon will stop producing 450.

Interestingly, the lagoon 450 is still in production. I wonder when the last one will be produced.... In any case, we are very happy, because we could postpone the production date of our 450s to our desired date spring 2020.
