St Petersburg - Tampa Bay

I'm newly relocated in St Petersburg and I'd like to meet cruising sailors interested in crewing aboard a 53' cutter. Daysail, Weekend, or... I am putting together a two week +/- cruise, Departing St Pete later in November, to The Dry Tortugas, Key West and returning to St Pete. Vessel extremely capable and in excellent shape. Let's get acquainted.

Darn, I won't be down for my annual 6 month snowbird season until mid December. Would have loved to be part of your crew, or buddy boat with mine.

If you have other trips in mind, let's keep in contact.

Is your plan to hurry down and spend most of the 2 weeks in the Tortugas or do you want to hop down and spend only a few days in the Tortugas?

Sure, get it touch when you get here. I'll be around St Pete all winter unless I'm out.

Re: St Petersburg - Tampa Bay

The plans for the Dry Tortugas trip are coming along well. One of my crew who sailed down from Pensacola would like to join me. I would welcome one or two more along as long as they're fairly easy to get along with. I'm thinking five or six days in the Tortugas; great diving out there and I have a SCUBA tank compressor aboard so we won't have to take a ton of tanks. Last time I was there I had a fantastic time. I thought we'd stop by Key West for a day or two since we'd be in the same latitude. Probably the sail down and back would be non-stop. I'm thinking 35 or 40 hours each way. The plan is flexible at this point.

Interested and available Re: St Petersburg - Tampa Bay

Hi,
Nice sail boat. Interested in crewing. Maybe we can meet in St. Pete and go for a day sail? Both wife and I would like to possibly crew.

Re: St Petersburg - Tampa Bay

I'll be visiting home for a few weeks from end of Dec thru Jan 12 from my job in Afghanistan - looking to get back into sailing when I eventually return home for good - was hoping to find a way to daysail during this visit with hopes of bigger and better things in the future. I can provide better contact info while in the states if you think you may be up for a day sail in the area, if not maybe something later in the year. Thanks for reaching out, have a great weekend!
