Retired

My name is Gene and I recently retired following 29 years of state service in California as a law enforcement officer. I am 51 years old and I would like to learn to sail. I want to eventually own my own boat. I do not have much experience (sailed a small Hobie Cat in Fiji about 8 years ago) and really want to learn and gain experience. I live in Oceanside California and would be interested in anything out of San Diego area (or Oceanside). I am available every day of the week. Dependable, honest, willing to learn.

Re: Retired

Hi! While waiting on someone to afford you some sailing time, I suggest that you start reading/studying a book or two about the foundations of sailing and seamanship. Books written by ASA and Chapman's are recommended, and are available on Amazon.com among other book sellers; buy used books as they are much cheaper. You'll be glad you did! Good luck! Mauritz
