Hawaii to Seattle in June/July 2016

I'm looking for 1 more crew to sail from Hawaii (Hilo) to Seattle. Looking to depart Hilo in mid to late June 2016. The boat is a Hans Christian 43' and I already have 1 crew position filled. This will be the final leg of a Fiji-to-Seattle return trip.

To clarify, I'm not looking to pay a captain, but looking for someone who wants some blue water experience and is able to fly to Hawaii.

Do you have room for a couple, both with sailing experience?

I'm interested, I currently live in Honolulu. How long do you think the voyage will be?

Re: Hawaii to Seattle in June/July 2016

Hi there,
My summer plans are still being formed, but I have been thinking about doing exactly this. I am a 33-year-old male looking into the possibility of getting some time at sea during summer break from grad school, and I figured the leg back from Hawaii to the mainland might be my best bet.

I owned my own 30-ft sailboat for 7 years and sailed for three years from Oregon to Panama and back to Mexico, so I am familiar with boat systems/repair, diesel engines, boater safety, and life at sea in conditions up to ~45 kts. I'm fit and able, and I'm happy to put in my fair share of time on deck and in the galley. I'm a sociable guy, non-smoking, who doesn't mind keeping to myself as well.

If you're interested, please contact me at jeff[dot]burright at gmail. I wouldn't be able to commit just yet, but if you're open to a conversation, let's feel each other out.

P.S. - Your boat is pretty.

Re: Hawaii to Seattle in June/July 2016

I have a couple years worth of sailing experience on different boats and will be in Hawaii in June! I would love to learn more about this excursion if you still need another crew member. I am an athletically built 21 year old male.

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you

Re: Hawaii to Seattle in June/July 2016

Hey there,

My name is Frank, I'm 31 years old and I am very interested in joining you on this voyage. I grew up on/around boats as my Dad was a caretaker for the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club on a 24 acre island called Tugboat Island. I own a modest 22' Chrysler sailboat. I wouldn't say I am an experienced sailor but I learn quick, am very fit, and most people would agree that I am good company. I live a minimalist lifestyle and can usually do trips on very short notice as I have nothing to tie me down. Please contact me at frank@islandmoringa.com if you have any questions.

Cheers.

Re: Hawaii to Seattle in June/July 2016

I am looking for exactly this blue water experience. Have motored most of my life and just got the sailing bug!
Fit, pushing 50 year old, on a quest to become a Wise Old See Hag :0) I have participated in a few boat deliveries and get along with everyone. Cook, clean, trained as a nurse, mechanically inclined, worked as a deckhand and love a challenge! I also need sea time for licensing.

What bait do I need for this hook?! I WANT this one!

Re: Hawaii to Seattle in June/July 2016

Greetings SV Apropos,

I live in the Seattle area and am looking for more off shore experience. I have been sailing for over 15 years and currently own a 42' sloop which I am planning to take offshore in about 2 years. I am a 44 years old, fit, non-smoking, professional male. The wife says get more offshore time in now so here I am. I am familiar with boat systems and safe practices, but always looking to learn. I would like to learn more about you and your boat. Let me know if you are interested.

Rob

Re: Hawaii to Seattle in June/July 2016

I am very interested. do you think 30 days will be sufficient time to completed the passage?
I have a full time work but can take time off and will pay for my airfare.

I just completed the ASA 104, Bareboat Cruising Certification and I'm eagle to start sailing.

I do not have a lots of sailing experience but I had experience with boat repairs, I am an all around mechanic, diesel, electric, air condition, fiberglass etc etc. If it's broken I can fix it.

Thanks
