Free Holiday to Kuwait for RYA Instructor

A couple of Kuwaitis who have imported plush new sailboats would like to fly an RYA instructor out to Kuwait to do an RYA course with them (probably at Day Skipper level)... and Marc and I will hopefully take the opportunity to do our Yachtmaster exams at the same time.

Usual deal... flights, accommodation, salary etc.

Do you know of a good instructor who would be interested in visiting Kuwait?

(Naturally I'll trawl the web, but I do prefer word of mouth recommendations).

Ta, Folks

Just be aware an RYA Instructor cannot examine for any of the Yachtmaster practical exams. he or she can examine upto Day Skipper and can set and correct the shore based Yachtmaster Theory Exam. ( and issue a completion certificate).

Re: Free Holiday to Kuwait for RYA Instructor

Hi,
I am sure that many RYA instructors are available over the UK winter. However, if you wish for an RYA certificate, it would have to be arranged via an RYA-approved sailing school as own-boat tuition. I am going down under and so can't help until April.

Re: Free Holiday to Kuwait for RYA Instructor

Ten years ago, we had a guy come out (retired now) and examine and pass two andidates for the Yachtmaster practical, then he ran a course for Day / Coastal Skipper. I understand regs have changed somewhat now, and need to be through a school (not a problem)... and for a while they weren't even allowed to issue certs in this part of the world. Will contact RYA direct to get ins and outs. Was just hoping someone might have had a fab experience with someone... word of mouth is always better!
