Re: Clearwater,Fl .. south to the keys

Good morning. I wish to be considered for your trip. I am 71 years old, very fit and active. I have very little sailing experience. Only just completed ASA 101 & 103. I am looking to do some blue water cruising to gain experience. I will be in Palm Bay Florida in a couple of days. I am totally foot loose and fancy free. Able to go wherever i like and stay as long as I like. If this information strikes your fancy please call me. 623-570-6915

Aurista, I did not send a PM to you. I sent it to the original author of the thread, the one with the CSY 44. Pappy

Re: Clearwater,Fl .. south to the keys

Hi! Sounds like you are overwhelmed with crew. If you still have space/need someone and don't mind taking a kid along (I'm 28 I really want to gain more experience sailing and don't mind doing the grunt work

I'd love the chance to sail with some experienced sailors. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you my "resume", sailing experience etc...

What do you plan on doing along the way?
Can you tell me a little bit more about your typical day to day?
Expenses?

Thanks!

Re: Clearwater,Fl .. south to the keys

Update to this trip the original crew can no longer make this trip. Also the PMs do not seem to be working well, I will answer all PMs so if you don't hear from me I did not get your PM.
New departure date is middle of February.
It seems some would like me to pay for their vacation, this is not a welfare trip this is a Dutch trip. lol
Which also means you have equal say in any stops that you would like to make on the way south.

Re: Clearwater,Fl .. south to the keys

I might be interested depending on the boat and the owner if you left after May 15th. See my sailing experience below:Bob Burg (Charisma1937)
Columbia, SC

Sailing Resume

College graduate, have sailed the Bahamas and Caribbean for the last 40 years on sail and powerboats, mostly sail. Have owned and sailed 32’ Down east sloop, 43’ Choy Lee motor sailor, 55’ Lagoon catamaran, 65’ Hatteras long-range cruiser, and a 16’ Hobie Cat. Am experienced in the Bahamas and most of the islands in the Caribbean, as far as the ABC islands. In my first life I was a freelance corporate pilot and wholesale liquor distributor. I can perform all sailing responsibilities including navigation, sail handling, standing watch, cooking, tending bar and being a good host. I’m PADI certified and I can fix minor mechanical problems, but I’m not an engineer. I require expenses to and from the boat and while engaged. Available May 15, 2016 until whenever.
