Annapolis to Florida to Bahamas via the Thorny Path

Looking for one, perhaps two more crew.
1979 Jeanneau 38 ketch. Brit registered. Leaving Annapolis, USA for Florida/ Bahamas/ DR/? in October
Very laid back, fun ship. Simple but well found. Not luxurious. foot pumped water, no shower, ( yes to solar shower) nice wine cellar. We do eat well on board. computer, chartplotter, handhelds, but no radar. Rhosyn mor is spacious with lots of storage, new rigging, grumpy motor. lots of music.
Skipper ( that's me) experience in the Med, and long passages, this is first time in this part of the world.
Crew ( that would be you) have some experience, happy, a sense of wonder, responsible. Given to wandering, no schedule. Able to stand a watch. Good with a water cannon.

Anjou, I have met Nick and been aboard Rhosyn Mor in Annapolis. Nick is more than modest. Rhosyn is extremely well found and seaworthy. Nick chooses to keep onboard systems simple, hence the pressurized solar shower. Same system the Pardeys use, among others. As captain, he has crossed oceans, and cruised extensively. He's a trained chef to boot! The opportunity of a lifetime lies in this thread... Chris

I do love my shower, my day cannot start until ive had one in the same way some peeps need a coffee, but i guess sacrifices can be made

Anjou, the great thing about pressurised solar showers is they can be run into the heads!
we here on Rhosyn Mor live by the maxim" Clean in body, mind and soul"

Hi Anjou and Imagine! Now that I read my post, it does sound like it! I met Nick here on the forum, and drove down to Annapolis to have some work done by Nick's employer. After work, Nick was nice enough to invite Marisa and I out to see Rhosyn Mor. We had cocktails, and I had a chance to quiz Nick on various curries he had aboard. Did I mention he's a trained chef? If I wasn't finishing a 5 year refit I would go myself, even if he IS a Brit!

One good thing about having a large Asian community on my doorstep is the amount of food stores selling every type of spice, and when im not living on my Thai diet of rice and spicey fish, ( glau pau talay ) im mainly eating rice and something curry spicey.

Either which way, theres a lot of spice in my life, even if i am a Brit.

Technically I am not a curry chef, I used to specialize in " fusion" food, using french/ italian techniques and asian ingredients.
I have discovered they do indeed have asian supermarkets here in the USA, so its not a gastronomic desert
having said all of that I can whip up a good jalfrezi or Gang kee wan. They do have very nice Dried Tofu here for not a lot of dosh, nice bit of kit when yer brassic

Left the Ol' Smoke about 9 years ago and other than the occasional visit have not been back. Been to some wonderful places though.

Anjou, I call Annapolis "sailors heaven". Kind of like Fiddlers Green, I wouldn't mind having my ashes scattered in the bay there. Nicks in a great anchorage, where a 3 minute row drops you right into town. When are you coming? Nothing goes to weather faster than a 747...
