Yanmar/Balmar alternators

In 2008, I replaced the Yanmar 35 amp alternator with only 100 hours on the engine to a Balmar 60-70-24-SR-IG. Needing to maintain the charge on 5 Optima Yellow Tops, let me to replace the Balmar with 500 hours with a Balmar 60-100-SR-IG. I went from 35 amps to 70 amps to 100 amps.

Both the Yanmar alternator and the Balmar 70 amp alternator fit a Yanmar 3GM30F. I want to sell one of these alternators.

I will give either of these alternators a 90 day warranty.

Re: Yanmar/Balmar alternators

I am interested in the 70 amp Alternator; will it fit my YANMAR 3GMD (it is the raw water cooling motor). Is a double pulley needed for the crank? since the pull is stronger? I have the 35 Amp alt which came with it.

I know this is an old post but just curious if you still have them.

Re: Yanmar/Balmar alternators

I have an Ample Power Co (Seattle) 126 amp alternator that uses an external regulator. It came off a Yanmar 3JH2TE 47 hp. It was working fine when I replaced it before going on a lang cruise.

Re: Yanmar/Balmar alternators

Thanks for your response, I think it may fit my 3HM. I'm assuming this is a single pulley? If so what are you asking for it?

Re: Yanmar/Balmar alternators

The Ample alternator is a single pulley. I paid $550 for the other one. I think $250 is a fair price.
