Yes, it is a do-it-yourself boatyard but you can also hire very inexpensive workers .. less than 10 USD/day!
Monthly fees are about 350 USD

Things to check out on W42's:
- water tanks can leak at the tops - fiberglass bottoms/sides with aluminum top with gaskets. Very common
- keel fuel tank often not used because water gets in from bilge water over it
- the original thru-hulls need annual attention (cone style)
- great tankage (even without the keel tank)

See the writeup on bluewaterboats.org that I wrote a few years ago on the Whitby 42. We loved our boat but there are things to be aware of. The new owners are half-way around the world right now.
