Whisper Gen

I have a whisper gen that was taken out of the boat in order to put in a 110v genset. This thing has run storng and is very clean, low hours but these things last forever. If you don't know what the whisper gen is then google it. It is the best most fuel effiecnt power sourse available for sailing vessels. I have everything that comes with the power unit. I will post pics and feel free to PM me for more info.

Re: Whisper Gen

The formula,

The formula for finding wattage is very simple.

Watts = Volts x Amps

So lets say you have a 1000 watt stero system in your car. You wanna know how many amps that its sucking down.

Amps = Watts / Volts

Since a car battery is 12 volts: 1000W / 12V = 83.3 Amps.

So, 800w/12v=66.66666666666 amps which is huge and that's why it's $10k.
Do not confuse this with a 120v genny. You would need about an 8KW to produce the same amps.
