two years ago I
sold a 9000#
keel from a 1929 - 56ft schooner. There was a soft metal foundry near me. I got .58/lb. At the time that was way above scrap value. I cut it in 5 peices with an
electric chainsaw so I could manage the chunks.
The pictures of it are on the first few pages of my blog. What a
project that was to disassemble that
boat. What a shame to let such a
classic boat detiate to such a state.
