Re: GECCO 39, Swan copy
Mentioning Swan somehow is supposed to evoke confidence that this vessel is cruise worthy ... Folks, I've been on many Swan's and while they are splendid racing boats, the presence of a fin keel and keep draft leave me questioning the basis tied to calling any such likeness a cruiser. Further, deep fin keel and Bahamas strike me as danger zone. Better have a decent dinghy with screw...

Re: GECCO 39, Swan copy
Six foot drafts can handle the Bahamas. Sounds like a well equipped boat.

Looks like it could be a nice boat. I think you need to post online lots and lots of photos to get the right sort of interest.
I suggest that you take a look at one of the free blogging websites (I like tumblr.com) and load up high res photos there and then post the link

Re: GECCO 39, Swan copy
A quick look at sailboatdata info on the boat will answer many of the add'l questions. No need to start a pissing match with the OP. Each of us can make our own conclusions.

Let me guess, my old C&C 6,6 ft fin keel, never touch the bottom and enjoy many places , my last CSY the same, exumas, the great Bahama bank, gun cay , eleuthera , cat island . crooked, long island, rum cay, etc... true that a deep draft have some limitations in the banks or in really shallow spots , bays , cuts etc... but is not a impediment to enjoy the islands ,

Re: GECCO 39, Swan copy
Cleaned up this For Sale thread since it's just that: a boat for sale ad, not a discussion on (fin) keels & draft in the Bahama's.
Interested parties can make up their own minds and may even decide the world is bigger then just the Bahamas

Re: GECCO 39, Swan copy
Hi, I read that a lot of these were sold as kit boats, I'm curious if this was factory finished?
