Four Winds II - 1998 - Never Used

I bought this in Nov. 1998 and it never left my garage. It is new except for the 13 years of storage. Not sure what it is worth but I know some will want it. Please make offers. I am in Stuart, FL but travel regularly to Miami and could deliver it any where in between.

Not sure about the wattage but I know it is a high power unit. You can probably Google it to get the details. I had a similar wind generator when we cruised in the late 80's, early 90's. It put out about 15 amps in 15 knots of wind. Kept our batteries up pretty easily.

$600 is a fair price--its been sitting for 14 years and there is no manufacturing support for it anymore.

I chose our Fourwinds II after motoring around Block Island on a windy day, searching to see which was the quietest wind generator. It won hands down.

Note of caution to the seller and buyer: The blades are probably balanced. Be careful to preserve that during shipping.

Our blades are out of balance. I've been using strategically-placed binder clips to get them balanced. I've had some success, but not complete success. Hearing the thump thump thump all night long makes you wnat to shut it down, especially with other people on board, who may not appreciate the amps as much as a good night's sleep.

A separate, padded box is called for, for the blade and hub assembly. (You'll want to ship the heavy part separately anyway, to save money.)

And if anyone has a balancing procedure that works, please let me know. I've spent hours attempting it, writing down the clip placement. Can't seem to get it right.

Regards,
Brad
